The Orange Buffalo, the best wings in town
Last week, after a crazy morning running around, K from NuffnangX and I met for a really spicy lunch in Brick Lane. And before you wonder, it wasn’t to sample Indian specialties, but The Orange Buffalo‘s hot wings. Huge, crispy, freshly fried chicken wings, tossed in deliciously spicy hand-made orange sauces, served with celery sticks and blue cheese dip.
The Orange Buffalo, tucked away in Ely’s Yard car park, off Brick Lane, is a recent addition to the food-truck scene. They serve free range Buffalo wings in four levels of spiciness: Original, Woof-Woof, Van-Gogh, and Viper.
K opted for the original and I felt brave enough to go for Woof-Woof, a mid-level. Being hungry greedy and wanting to try the full ‘Orange Buffalo’ experience, we also ordered curly fries and onion rings.
Sat down in the freezing cold, we scoffed our face with the divine freshly fried crispy yet juicy wings, covered in this sticky, messy, tangy and sweet hot sauce; perfectly washed down by Ginger beer.
The chips and the onion rings were to die for, crispy on the outside, with a soft middle, deliciously dipped into the rich hand-made blue cheese sauce – I am still salivating at the thought.
Portions are on the generous side, so you need to come prepared with a big appetite. Menu deal: wings + chips + drink £6.
Opening times can vary depending on the weather, you check their twitter feed.
The Orange Buffalo is a little gem, possibly the best wings (and chips) you can find in London. I can’t wait to go back!
