Ladies cocktails & pampering Sunday

Galante, a newly opened Argentine cocktail bar in Chelsea, named after Santiago Policastro aka  “El barman Galante”, the most influential barman in Argentina – have launched a ladies only afternoon sanctuary, running every Sunday; and last weekend I was lucky to get a spot, with my friend R.

Next door to sibling Gaucho – both part of the same group – the interior is very glamorous, with Art Deco mirrored walls and lavish chandeliers; all in a black, silver and aqua colour code.

Upon our arrival, ‪we were greeted with a complimentary Bellini and shown to our table by the friendly staff, who made us feel instantly welcome.

Pretty soon, we were invited  to have a mini manicure by the lovely and extremely professional team from NYC spa Bliss.

The cocktail list is pretty interesting, and I strongly recommend to try out their virgin cocktails.

After our manicures we were feeling a little hungry, and couldn’t resist the temptation to sample their trio of Empanadas; comfit duck, humita with roasted pumpkin, and my favourite, the fresh lobster with white truffle and Parmesan cream.

Cocktails and pampering, possibly one of the best combinations to spend a relaxed afternoon with the girls. They also show silent movies – head phones are provided for those who want to listen.

We left in style, with a goody bag filled with Bliss products, body butter, body wash and body scrub.

They still accept reservations,  just place an email rsvp@bargalante.com with your name and contact number. The sanctuary experience is FREE ;) .

Sorry boys, this event is ladies-only, but you are welcome at any other time to check out their extremely well executed cocktail list of pre and post dinner drinks, with a few interesting old-fashioned classics re-interpreted. Not your ordinary cocktail bar.  Recommended.
