Wondering what to do this Saturday?
Why not grab a bite at Duck and Waffle and then pop down to the Bishopsgate Institute to take a look at the photography exhibition ‘Tales from the Two Puddings’, launched in conjunction with the book release by first time author Eddie Johnson.
Octogenarian Eddie, one of East London’s most famous landlords, tells his tales from the Two Puddings, a Stratford pub he was licensee of for nearly four decades. Known as one of London’s busiest and most fashionable pubs, with its hugely popular music nights, it acted as a magnet for a large and colourful cast of disparate characters including actors, writers, singers musicians, champion boxers and infamous gangsters.
This exhibition is part of Underground London, an initiative by the Bishopsgate Institute to mark 150 years of the London Underground, digging beneath the city streets to reveal hidden places and people in Underground London.
